Goal begins with…GO!

Every goal begins with go, yet despite how many of us are ‘going’, so few are actually achieving our goals! Goals

Everyone has some type of GOAL.

Whether it’s to lose weight, gain a promotion, be a better ________… the list goes on. No matter how different the list, the envisioned end result is the goal for any of us.

When did we lose our ambition?

Why did we stop taking aim?

Is it because we are paralyzed by the need for perfection instead of remembering real success comes from the progress?

We have all but forgotten that who you become on your way to a goal is greater than what you gain from what you do to get there.

Stop wishing & hoping for an easier way to your goal and make a plan.

But you can’t stop there (this is where analysis paralysis can take over!), you must go to your goal – GO is a verb after all!

First thing to do is to get it out of your mind and someplace you can see it.

Write. It. Down.

You can google ‘written goals’ in your free time to learn the types, methods and even the supporting statistics as to written vs. not and it’s correlation in achieving them. (vs. not)

But, long before google, the internet, goal experts, gurus and self-help books, we had where all I believe truth and instruction comes from and it is where God wrote his vision for us, the Bible. Also known as the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth manual.

Let’s take a look at a great biblical example that relates to the GO of our goals.

And the LORD answered me, and said, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tables, that he may run that reads it.” Habakkuk 2:2

…write the vision

The WHAT: the dream
You’ve heard the saying, “The weakest of ink is better than the strongest memory”
The vision is the ‘far away thing’ that we want, but it will take more than dreaming to get us there, it takes ACTion. That’s where goals come into play.

…make it plain on tables

The HOW: the goals
Don’t over complicate it, break it down and write it down!
GOals are the step by step ACTion plan to bring us closer to achieving the ‘far off’ vision.

…that he may run

The WHY: the inspiration
You are less likely to turn around or become distracted if you are running, especially if you know what you are running toward.
The WHY is what keeps us going because we know who will benefit in the end. Your WHY should always be for the benefit of a ‘who’ not a ‘what’.

The vision is the dream, the goals give the dream a deadline and who you are doing it all for is what will keep you going!

“The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Praying that you take aim, take action and keep GOing toward your GOALS!

GOing and GROWing right there with you,

Because achieving goals is more about Prioritized Focus than the destination I’ve created some resources to help myself to bust a MOVE! Maybe they can help you too? Take a look here
