Growing in the right direction

Are you growing in the right direction?

We are oh, so good at going! Any one of us can practically be the expert at go. Some of that going may be more than just “busy” and evident in the progress we are making!

So yes, we go well. Often in too many different directions.

Finishing…well, that’s a whole ‘nother story isn’t it?

What I’m talking about here is growth.

Personal, beneficial, empowering growth. The kind that gives you a new perspective, a new motivation and definitely a new lesson to be added to your experience and knowledge.

Take a look at this picture and I think you’ll see what I mean.

Growing in the right direction doesn’t always seem evident to others, but the reward is always much greater!

Odds are you know what you need to be doing in order to go in the direction you want to go. Or at the very least, know someone who can help you.

Yet you still allow fear to get in your way.

Fear of what others may think.

Fear that you’re not enough.

Fear that you’re just not ready.

And the list goes on and on doesn’t it?

Last week I wrote about defeating our default mode and fear can so often be one of our defaults!

We need to prioritize our focus on growing into who we need to be in order to handle the increase we are hoping to gain.

Growth is the process of increasing in size.

What do we spend our entire lives trying to increase?

Our relationships.

Our financial freedom.

Our faith.

And many go their whole lives without taking the time to learn the process of growing what truly fuels their soul. The who of who they really are and by being who they are and doing what fuels them increases others joy and even well being. Yes, call it your purpose, your passion, your calling or even your life’s WHY…to me, it’s your fuel.

Today, take a moment to reflect on areas you have truly grown into the person you needed to be to handle the increase you were given. Then look at the areas that just do not seem to be increasing in the way or the rate you want them to and ask yourself if you are making the effort to grow into you need to be in order to handle that desired increase?

Prioritizing my focus on growth right there with you,

Deana

Hitting a growth spurt or feeling a bit stunted? This may be a good place to start.
