It’s Redemption Season

Learning there’s always a redemption season can be a real game changer.
I smile every time I hear this part of the song now…” it’s time to put it in your past, oh feel the winter leavin’ it’s redemption season” from a song by For King and Country called It’s Not Over Yet.
Sure, I can smile now that I’m personally in a Spring season, but I remember very distinctly what the cold, harsh Winter life seasons (yes, seasons plural) have been like.
I remember Winter seasons feeling…
- crushed by the weight of ‘life’s snow’ on me
- being angry, distant, depressed
- doubting my faith and the promises and ability of my Almighty God to put me in the ‘right’ season
- all but convinced I was not where I should be both in my life and my business
- like my real dreams were a joke and my thoughts became more of ‘why bother’ than ‘I can do better’
- like I wanted to quit my dreams and the life I wanted
The truth is I was exactly where I needed to be to get the result God had in mind for me all along – to GROW me.
Both in my personal life and my business.
Have you ever found yourself in a place or time in your life where you were convinced you were in the ‘wrong’ season?
Sometimes we can be perfectly content and its the actions of someone else that throws us into an ‘unwanted’ season. So here we are in the ‘wrong’ season feeling isolated and alone, now what? Well, here is what I have learned and maybe it will help you.
We have to remember these ‘wrong’ seasons are exactly that, SEASONS.
Its okay to have dreams and want to be in a different season, but you can’t get frustrated and give up! You have to make the decision to learn from the season you find yourself in and GROW through it.
A Spring season is full of potential and planting seeds, Summer is when you get to look upward, arms out stretched and bask in the glow…but its the Fall and Winter seasons that shape and prepare us for the work of Spring and the reward of Summer.
Sometimes a Fall season requires you to finally let go of old, dead leaves because a Winter is coming and you can’t hold onto leaves and bear the weight of life’s snow at the same time.
Each season brings a special kind of beauty as well as a necessary amount of pain/work to strengthen and GROW us – otherwise we’d either ALL be in the same season or the same size!!
I know my God is way bigger and better than that! I love that God’s business is redemption and that He loves to rebuild and restore to better than before – Jesus was a carpenter by trade right?!
Each day we have the opportunity to be just a little better than we were the day before because of what we learned and can now apply.
GROWing right there with you,
Deana
Loved it!
